Four Steps to Freedom Welcomes Peter Egan as Our Patron

A powerful new voice for animals who need us most ❤️🐾

We are absolutely thrilled and incredibly proud to announce that Peter Egan has become Patron of Four Steps to Freedom;

For a small Scottish charity with a huge heart and an unwavering commitment to animal welfare, this is a truly special moment.

Peter, best known for his acting in Downton Abbey, Ever Decreasing Circles, Reilly: Ace of Spies and After Life, is a passionate and dedicated acitivist for animals. Having him stand alongside us means so much. His compassion, his determination to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, and his commitment to improving the lives of animals make him a wonderful addition to our Four Steps to Freedom family.

Because every animal matters. Every life matters. And no animal should have to suffer simply because it has been born into circumstances beyond its control.

Across the Meru region of Tanzania, countless dogs and cats face the daily challenges of disease, neglect and a lack of access to veterinary care. Behind every statistic is a living, feeling animal capable of experiencing pain, fear, trust and love. Every one of them deserves the chance of a healthier, happier life.

Since 2015, Four Steps to Freedom has been working tirelessly to change that reality. Through veterinary care, vaccination, sterilisation, animal rescue and community education, we are helping to save lives, prevent suffering and build a future where animals and people can live together safely.

Our work also tackles the devastating threat of rabies, protecting vulnerable animals and the communities in which they live. By bringing practical, compassionate solutions to the heart of these communities, we are working towards a future where fewer animals suffer and fewer lives are lost.

We are a small charity, run entirely by volunteers and funded entirely by donations. We may be small, but our determination is enormous. Every contribution, every act of kindness and every person who joins our mission helps us reach another animal in need.

That is why welcoming Peter as our Patron is so meaningful.

His support gives us another opportunity to shine a light on the plight of vulnerable animals and the vital work being carried out in Tanzania. Together, we hope to inspire more people to care, to get involved and to understand that compassion can make a tangible difference.

Our mission is simple: to break the cycle of suffering, save lives and give animals the freedom to live without the constant threat of preventable disease and neglect.

We are so grateful to Peter for becoming part of that mission.

Peter, from all of us at Four Steps to Freedom, thank you for standing with us and for helping us champion the animals who depend on people like you to be their voice.

We look forward to the journey ahead and to everything we can achieve together for the animals of Tanzania.

Please join us in giving Peter Egan the warmest of welcomes! ❤️

Together, we can save lives, prevent suffering and give more animals the future they deserve.

Four Steps to Freedom —fighting rabies, saving lives, and giving animals hope.

🐾 Because their lives matter, too.
