We need lifesaving veterinary equipment & supplies: can you help?

We need your support to equip The Gongo Centre with the lifesaving veterinary equipment that will allow us to save more lives, train more vets and make a bigger difference, faster.

We welcome all donations of new or second-hand veterinary equipment, as well as financial donations that will enable us to buy these much-needed items.

In our Wish List, below, we have identified the most vital pieces of equipment that we need for The Gongo Centre.

  • Stainless steel for hygiene and with a rubber top to stop animals slipping.

These tables are vital for preparing animals for surgery and minor procedures.

Some tables have wheels to allow animals to be wheeled safely into surgery once anaesthetised, so they don’t have to be carried between rooms.

  • Tables with adjustable height – so simple, yet these can make such a huge difference for our vets.

Help us prevent back and neck injuries for vets and nurses who spend hours operating on multiple surgeries every day!

  • These sainless steel trolleys are vital for sterile surgeries where the vets can place all their surgical kit for the operation.

  • All our surgical patients and many sick hospitalised patients need to have Intravenous fluids. These stable, height adjustable stands mean we can position the “drips” with the patient so they can continue to run uninterrupted

  • Hand washing and sterility is paramount for hygienic surgery. These sinks have taps operated by a knee push so it is totally hands free!

  • Special bright, adjustable, ceiling or wall mounted lights allow vets to see the surgical area properly. We need one for every surgery table!

  • We need good light for everything we do, for example examining mouths, paws, placing intravenous cannulas, endotracheal tubes for surgery and examining wounds

  • Ultrasonic baths are essential for thorough cleaning of surgical instruments to clean all the little ridges and corners of the kits before sterilising in an autoclave.

  • Help us ensure that patients are given the correct amount of fluid for their weight. Fluid pumps are essential for safety, particularly in our smaller and very sick patients

  • We will be able to safely give correct doses of IV medications to our patients with these syringe pumps

  • We can make our own concentrated oxygen from the air with these essential machines. For use during anaesthesia and for animals in ICU with breathing problems. These machines mean we don’t have to worry about unreliable supplies of big, heavy, expensive oxygen gas cannisters

  • We can create a life saving oxygen chamber from a normal kennel by changing the door to this special door which allows us to provide additional oxygen to the patient inside without any stress to the animal.

  • We have many patients who would benefit from a special ICU unit where we can warm hypothermic litters of puppies and injured animals, while they also receive oxygen

  • This clever system uses warm air flow through special blankets to warm animals- especially useful during and after long surgeries to prevent anaesthetised patients becoming dangerously cold.

  • These banks of 5 stainless steel kennels are important for hygiene – in observation areas for pre and post-surgery and in wards for sick patients.

We need 3 banks of 5 kennels.

  • These banks of six cat-friendly cages are invaluable for reducing stress in cat patients.

  • Essential for safe operating during major procedures.

  • Safely prevent bleeding during surgery.
